Energetic intrusions cover a wide variety of possible causes and effects, and we will try to cover many of them in a series of posts.
We begin by talking about intrusions more broadly in the category of energetic connections. There can be four types of energetic connections:

There are two dimensions. One is whether the connection is beneficial or detrimental to a person. The other is whether we want them or not. Going through each quadrant:
Want/Beneficial
This is the easiest to discuss, which are connections that are beneficial to us and also ones we want. These would include the loving connections that are naturally present between parent and child, between family members, or good friends. We do not want to rid ourselves of these!
Don’t Want/Detrimental
Opposite to the Want/Beneficial quadrant are connections that we don’t want and are detrimental to us. These are also easy to discuss as we want to get rid of these whenever possible! We don’t want them around; we often don’t even know how they got attached to us! Regardless, they have negative effects on us, we have no hold on them, and are relatively easy to get rid of.
Want/Detrimental
The next quadrant describes one of the most difficult categories in energetic intrusions. We know this intrusion is bad for us, but yet something within us wants it to stay around. There can be many reasons why we want it to stay, including if there is some very persistent attitude of the intrusion itself that it does not want to leave either. No matter where the desire to stay comes from, this runs up against the wishes of your sovereign self. When you want something, we need to break this desire first or else the intrusion may never leave.
Don’t Want/ Beneficial
This last category is a bit unusual. Usually beneficial connections we want to keep, but in this case there is something about it that you don’t want. I have not yet encountered this in my work, but conceptually it is possible.
In the Part 2, we will discuss the nature of the intrusion itself…
